reflection

i got really interested in collaging recently, so when i came across this artist while researching it immediately caught my eye. her work kind of reminds me of Soviet Union for some reason, it may be color scheme and the vibe of the old newspapers. which also reminds me of old schools and writing that i thought might be a part of the project 'Memory Palace'. i like how she places different cutouts and the combination of drawing and collage, which i in fact used in one of my works before i saw Hannah Höch's work.

it is very impressive that her work spoke about womens rights for that time (1889-1978). she said that her male colleagues used to continuously look at females as amateurs, denying them implicitly any real professional status. but yet still she had the courage to speak with her art and raise a voice about a huge issue.
